Things to consider when booking your Maldives holiday
Made up of 1,192 islands (182 of which are uninhabited), our Maldives travel packages offer plenty of opportunities to explore secluded beaches, colourful wildlife, and live a more relaxed way of life.
Accessibility
Once you have arrived at Male International Airport you will need to take a speedboat, seaplane or domestic flight to reach the other islands. If you’re travelling with young children, then a speedboat may be the best option for reaching your resort, with most of Malé Atoll, including South and North Malé Atolls reachable by boat. Alternatively, if you choose a resort that’s further afield, you can typically choose to transfer via a domestic flight or seaplane - both of which we offer as part of our Maldives holiday packages. Keep in mind that speedboat transfers tend to be a more affordable and quicker transfer option.
Facilities
We’re big believers in there being a resort and an island for everyone, no matter what you’re looking for, from your Maldives vacation. Things to consider when browsing our packages include adults only vs family-friendly accommodation, with many hotels offering kids’ clubs and entertainment options for toddlers through to teenagers.
Many places also offer equipment rental for watersports - whether you want to go snorkelling, diving, surfing, kiteboarding and more. Alternatively, if you want to spend your holiday in total relaxation, then why not pick accommodation that has a luxury spa on-site?
Board type
You’ll find an abundance of hotels and resorts in the Maldives that offer self-catering, bed and breakfast, half-board, and full-board meal options; as well as all-inclusive which includes beverages, and in some cases additional activities. If you’re leaning away from full-board, just make sure you do some research into restaurants on your chosen island, as some smaller islands only have one option, and food and beverages can be expensive.
Room types
When booking your Maldives vacation package with us, you’ll also have a variety of room types to choose from. For a more affordable option, you can book a standard room, or if you’re travelling as a family, a beach villa will offer more space.
Alternatively, for the ultimate romantic vacation, you could book an overwater villa where you can step straight into the sea, with many of them offering beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset and private pools. However, bear in mind overwater villas may not be suitable for small children!
