Travel in Azerbaijan, and not only will you see the most beautiful scenery in the form of rugged mountains, lush forests, and glittering seas, but you’ll get to taste some of the most delicious food, too. Discover the highlights that the Jewel of the Caucasus has to offer, and consider extending your trip with one of our holiday packages to Georgia, too.
Baku
The capital city, Baku is the biggest and most populous city in the country, and is a great place to use as your base on one of our Azerbaijan packages. Sumqayit
50km north of Baku, Sumqayit is a port city, located on the Caspian Sea, with its Old Town dating back to the 12th century. The surrounding mountains offer plenty of hiking trails, making it a great place to add to your Azerbaijan trip itinerary. The city is also a gateway to some beautiful beaches, including Novkhani and Free Beaches, both boasting golden sands and turquoise waters.
Quba
Situated at the foothills of the Caucasus, Quba offers a cooler climate, and has the rich Qechresh Forest that’s just waiting to be explored. Visit Quba as part of your Azerbaijan package from the UAE, and discover the azure waterfalls and lakes, alongside the neighbouring village of Krasnaya Sloboda, for authentic Jewish cuisine.
Gabala
With direct flights with DW from the UAE, Gabala (also known as Qabala) should be at the top of your list when visiting Azerbaijan. Tufandag Mountain Resort offers impressive skiing, with 12km of slopes; and you should also visit Yeddi Gozel waterfall, which freezes in the winter, but is beautiful in the summer.
