Tbilisi 

Whether you plan to travel to Georgia from Dubai for just a few short days or a couple of weeks, you should set some time aside for the capital. A fusion of old-meets-new, discover the crumbling streets dating back to the Ottoman era, mixed in with the futuristic Peace Bridge and Presidential Palace. But one of the best things to do in Tbilisi is head to the Mother Georgia monument, to watch the sunset over the city. 

Batumi

Georgia’s biggest seaside resort, and the capital of the Adjara region, escape the hustle and bustle with a day at the secluded Green Cape Beach, with its golden sands and shallow waters; or head to Gonio Beach, which is lined with chic cafes, bars, and restaurants; and is a popular spot for divers.

Uplistsikhe

An hour and a half outside of Tbilisi, Uplistsikhe cave town is well worth a visit on one of our Georgia tourism packages. Dating back to the end of the second millennium BC, it’s one of the oldest cave towns in the country. Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) 

The closest mountainous area to Tbilisi, and just 12km away from the Russian border, there’s no doubt about it: Kazbegi is one of the most picturesque spots in all of Georgia. The mountain peaks loom over the town, and are often covered in a veil of fog. Here, you’ll not only find the perfect opportunity for hiking, but the picturesque Gergeti Trinity Church is located here, too. 

Gudauri

Enjoy 50km of slopes as you ski or snowboard your way down the mountains, whether you’re a beginner or complete pro. When’s the best time to visit Georgia?

For milder weather and fewer crowds, the best time to visit Georgia is between May-June, and September-October. However, if it’s sun you’re after, then visit the resorts on the Black Sea in July and August. 

What’s the weather like in Georgia?

Georgia experiences four proper seasons. The spring months of March–May are mild in Tbilisi, at around 15-25 degrees Celsius, making it a great time to fully explore the country.

Summers are hot, but rarely reach above 33 degrees Celsius, with the warm weather stretching into October, with highs of 21 degrees. Winter can be cold, with lows of zero degrees Celsius. However, if you’re looking for a snowy winter wonderland, avoid Tbilisi, as the snow rarely sticks. Instead, head to Mestia, Kazbegi, or Upper Adjara.

Do I require a visa for Georgia?

Residents of the United Arab Emirates may obtain a short-term tourist visa on arrival to enter and stay in Georgia without a visa for 90 calendar days in any 180-day period. You must be able to present the following documents at the border.

1. Valid passport and valid residence permit (visa or Emirates ID)

2. Travel voucher or hotel confirmation

3. Travel and health insurance
