When’s the best time to visit Oman?
The high season of October to March is typically the best, as it’s not too hot, and there’s very little rain. If you head to Oman in January, you could visit Muscat Festival, where you can sample delicious local cuisine, and listen to traditional Omani music.
If you’re visiting on a budget, then you may prefer to book one of our Oman tour packages for April or May, which is known as the shoulder season, and sees fewer tourists due to its soar in temperatures.
What’s the weather like in Oman?
During the months of October to March, temperatures stay between 15-30 degrees Celsius, with little to no rain.
April to September sees hotter weather, with highs of up to a scorching 40 degrees Celsius during the day. If you plan to visit Salalah on the south coast, it’s worth bearing in mind the climate is different, with the khareef (monsoon season) happening from June to September. Expect humid fog to stretch across the coast and mountains, with plenty of wet winds.
Do I require a visa for Oman?
If you’re a citizen of the UAE, you won’t need a visa for your holiday to Oman, due to the Gulf Cooperation Council. However, if you’re a UAE resident, you’ll still need to apply for a visa if you’re booking one of our Oman trips.
To apply for the visa, head over to the Royal Oman Police (ROP) site, and have to hand a copy of your passport, a passport-sized photo taken in the last six months, and a copy of your valid UAE residency visa. For more information or assistance with your visa application please speak to our Visa Services team.
