Uncover top destinations on our Malaysia travel packages
Whether you’re planning on staying for a few days, a couple of weeks, or even a month, here are some of the places you should visit while in Malaysia. And if you want to extend your trip, why not book onto one of our Bali holiday packages too?
1. Kuala Lumpur
With its bright lights and looming skyscrapers, Kuala Lumpur is a capital city that never sleeps. A trip to the top of the Petronas Towers is a must on any Kuala Lumpur tour package, as is some retail therapy at its connecting shopping centre, Suria KLCC. Catch the fountain show at KLCC Park, which takes place every evening from 7pm, and if you’ve got some spare time, spend half a day at nearby Batu Caves, with its 272 colourful stairs leading to ornate Hindu statues set to a backdrop of limestone caves.
2. Penang
Situated in Northwest Malaysia, this state sure has a lot going for it. Embark on a walking tour of George Town, its capital, where you’ll get to see the Chinese, Indian, and Malay influences in its architecture - as well as uncover its colourful street art! Ride the funicular to the top of Penang Hill, for beautiful views of Penang Island, and spend some time in Penang National Park. Here, you can hike through lush rainforests and uncover tranquil beaches, including Turtle Beach, which is home to a conservation centre for (you guessed it!) turtles.
3. Langkawi
Nestled in the Andaman Sea, just off the west coast of Malaysia, Langkawi is a true island paradise. Here, you can snorkel, scuba dive and swim to your heart’s content at the pristine beaches, but there are lots of things you’ll want to do inland too. Tour through the Mangrove Forest by boat, or take a kayak and paddle around yourself; and head to Seven Wells Waterfall, where there are lots of pools you can dip in, and cool off at.
4. Sabah
Finally, none of our Malaysia package holidays are complete without a stop-off in Sabah, a Malaysian state located on the northern tip of Borneo. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can climb to the top of Mount Kinabalu, which is the tallest mountain in Southeast Asia, and takes about two days to hike, with a height of 4095 metres. Alternatively, you can take a boat trip down Kinabatangan River, and if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of orangutans and wild pygmy elephants, before spending your evenings sampling delicious Malay cuisine at the Kota Kinabalu night market.
